Public transport – Bus and metro (Prague)
The centre of Prague is accessible by public transport, namely bus and metro. Two bus lines run from Prague Airport towards the city. Bus number 100 runs between the airport (Letiště) and metro station Zličín (metro B), travel time is 15 to 20 minutes. Bus number 119 runs from the airport (Letiště) to metro station Nádraží Veleslavín (metro A), travel time here is 13 to 17 minutes. To get to the city centre you either need to take metro B to station Mustek or Náměstí Republiky, or travel with metro A to station Staroměstská or Mustek. Tickets cost 32 CZK per person and allow you to travel up to 90 minutes including transfers. Children from 6 up to 14 years old and elderly aged 65 up to 69 years pay only half the price (16 CZK). Public transport in Prague is free for children up to 5 years and for seniors aged 70 years or over. Tickets are available at the ticket machines at bus stop ‘Terminal 1’ and ‘Terminal 2’. You need to validate your ticket when you get on the bus. Public transport in the form of bus, metro and tram in Prague is carried out by DPP, they also offer tickets for one day (110 CZK) and three days (310 CZK). During the night bus number 510 runs between Prague Airport and the city every 30 minutes. Bus transportation – AE Airport Express (Prague)
The bus AE Airport Express bus is a better choice if you want to get to the city centre or central station Praha Hlavní nádraží without any transfers. The main railway station of Prague is located in the east of the city centre and is served by Prague Metro Line C. The bus departs every 10 to 30 minutes from Terminal 1 to the terminus Hlavní nádraží (46 minutes). Getting on the bus is only possible at Terminal 1, getting off the bus is possible at both T1 and T2. The last bus from the airirport leaves at 21:00 hours. Travel time to Prague Airport is shorter, 30 minutes to Terminal 1 and 32 minutes to Terminal 2. The first bus from the main railway station departs at 05:30 hours. You can buy tickets for this bus service of Czech Railways (České dráhy) from the bus driver, children up to 5 years of age are free of charge.
